Fischer Alsace

Description - Amber Ale

Maker - Fischer

Notes - A light beer, with an unfortunate "tinny" flavor that dominates the flavor. The attack and aftertaste were pleasant though.

Lakefront Pumpkin

Description - Lager with Pumpkin & Spices

Maker - Lakefront Brewing

Notes - A delicious blend for sure, this one lives up to the spices in the description. One of the best pumpkin beer's I've tried.

8/10

Jack's Pumpkin Spice Ale

Description - Fall Seasonal Pumpkin Ale

Maker - Michelob Brewing Co.

Notes - For having 'spice' in the name, I sure couldn't tell when drinking it. But, the flavor was pretty good, so it's cool.

7/10

Punk

Description - Pumpkin Ale with spices

Maker - Dogfish Head

Notes - While I wasn't wild about their regular IPA, this was pretty good. There was a nice balance of body, bitter, and pumpkin/spice. Still though, not my favorite.

7/10

Punk'n

Description - Harvest Pumpkin Ale

Maker - Four + Brewing

Description - Very mild, and unfortunately not much punk'n. Generally a good beer though.

7/10

Venetucci Pumpkin Ale

Description - Pumpkin Ale

Maker - Bristol Brewery

Notes - A little bitter for my taste, but with a great craft edge. Huge body flavor, and a nice reminiscence of pumpkin.

8/10

Harvest Moon

Description - Seasonal Pumpkin Ale

Maker - Blue Moon Brewing Co.

Notes - At first glance I liked this one alright, but after a while, the flavor became dominated by its tang. That, and it really didn't taste like pumpkin. Despite this it was still fairly drinkable.

6/10

Samurai

Description - Ale

Maker - Great Divide Brewing Co.

Notes - I had such high hopes for this one. I guess at least, though, it was reminiscent of your average Japanese beer, like a Kirin or something.

7/10

Dundee Honey Brown

Description - Brown Lager

Maker - Dundee

Notes - Average, but has a strange, light, bitter attack that's not altogether pleasant. With the whole honey bee thing going on, I was also expecting more of a honey flavor.

6/10

Urquell Pilsner

Description - Czech Pilsner

Maker - Urquell

Notes - Kind of nasty, but maybe I just don't like pilsners.

Easy Street

Description - Wheat Beer

Maker - Odell Brewing Co. (Fort Collins, CO)

Notes - This one is mad-drinkable. Not overpowering on any of the flavors, just nice and sweet.

8/10

Confre Elderberry Wine

Description - Elderberry Wine

Maker - Confre Cellars

Notes - Slightly sour, but mostly bitter, I'd have to say I didn't like this one. It's a shame because I usually love fruit wines.

4/10

2007 Angeline

Description - Pinot Noir

Maker - Angeline (Russian River Valley)

Notes - A very pleasant, slightly generic red.

7/10

2005 Bookcliff Chard

Description - Colorado Chardonnay

Maker - Bookcliff Vineyards

Notes - I wasn't that impressed. The complexities were low, and the alcohol was high. Pretty forgettable.

5/10

2005 Palisade Cab

Description - Cabernet Sauvignon

Maker - Desert Moon Vineyards

Notes - This wine was like and explosion of flavors in my mouth. Full of rich oak and surprisingly hints of butter, it's one of the most complex cabs I've tasted. Amazing.

9/10

New Zealand 2008

Description - Sauvignon Blanc

Maker - Allan Scott Family Winemakers

Notes - It's amazing how easy this wine is to drink. It's light, fruity flavor drifts right over your tongue and it's gone.

7/10

Road Dog

Type - Porter

Maker - Flying Dog Brewery

Notes - The hops in this one gets dangerously close to overrunning it. Thankfully it fades into a rich flavor and incredible finish.

8/10

In Heat Wheat

Description - Hefe Weizen Ale

Maker - Flying Dog Brewery

Notes - It has a strong citrus taste, but pleasant. It's reminiscent of a corona with lime... only a wheat beer with lemon.

Snake Dog IPA

Description - IPA

Maker - Flying Dog Brewery

Notes - This one was not so pleasant to drink. The bitter consumed the rest of the flavor as I got to the bottom. Still not a fan of IPAs.

4/10

Old Scratch Amber

Description - Amber Lager

Maker - Flying Dog Brewery

Notes - Fairly average lager. Reminiscent of Budweiser, but with a slightly fuller taste.

6/10

Adagio

Description - Sweet Red Dessert Wine/ Port

Maker - Bookcliff Vineyards (Colorado)

Notes - Sweet, mild, and easy to drink.

8/10

Boulder Creek Riesling

Description - 2006 Semi-sweet Riesling

Maker - Boulder Creek

Notes - Really nice Riesling. Pleasant and mild.

8/10

Carlson Vineyards - Laughing Cat

Description - 2006 Gerwurztraminer

Maker - Carlson Vineyards (Grand Valley Colorado)

Notes - Quite sweet, and nice flavor. A little bit of bitter though, which took a little away from the enjoyment.

7/10

Dogfish Head IPA

Description - "Continually Hopped" IPA

Maker - Dogfish Head

Notes - I'm also not big on IPAs, but I sure try them a lot. This one was alright. It had a lot of bitter, and not a lot of other flavors.

6/10

Toukai Nigori Sake

Description - Nigori Sake (cold)

Maker - Toukai (Ibaraki Prefecture - Kasama)

Notes - I'm not usually a big fan of nigori sakes, but this one was quite pleasant. It was sweet with only a slight hint of the typical acrid leftovers from distilling.

6/10

Chateau La Lieue - 2007

Description - Rose Wine

Maker - Chateau La Lieue

Notes - Fairly average and drinkable rose.

6/10

Dios Dark Ale

Description - Stout

Maker - Koshi no Iso (Fukui Prefecture - Echizen)

Notes - This was a highly unique ale. It had a fairly mild but dark flavor, with hints of citrus. More intriguing than delicious, but I'd buy it again.

7/10

Young's Oatmeal Stout

Description - Oatmeal Stout

Maker - Young's

Notes - A distinctly smooth attack, and a rich taste. Good nut and grain flavors, and a great, long-lasting finish.

Melbourn Bros Strawberry

Description - Beer and strawberry juice blend

Maker - Melbourn Bros

Notes - Despite this beer's accolades, the tangy strawberry flavor tasted at odds with the "Malted barley, Wheat, Hops, and Yeast." It was an interesting experience, but not one of the better fruit beers I've tried.

5/10

Chicken Killer

Description - Barley Wine Ale

Maker - Santa Fe Brewery

Notes - A unique blend of flavors. Like a mix of dessert wine and well, ale. Not unpleasant, but I wouldn't ask for a second helping.
